🧜🏽‍♀️ Laurie spent much of the summer rewriting a summer-y project: Coney Island Mermaid for clients/the original authors: Gregory Jackson and Bob Rich. The lead mermaid in this super-fun story is a sort of “good witch.” 😉

Insight, Advice, and Preparation Processes from Awesome Actors, Coaches and Casting Directors.This collection of essays, exercises and preparation processes inspired by the Now Write! series is almost done. If you’re a contributor, Laurie appreciates your patience during this long process.

Why this book? Like most creatives, actors tend to be lifelong learners who are constantly seeking new insights, tools and techniques. This collection is designed to inspire the reader’s creativity, while expanding their knowledge of both the craft and the business today. 

Now Act! is the first acting book to feature an inclusive “many voices under one roof” approach with contributions from diverse working actors, establishing a peer-to-peer vibe, along with coaches, teachers, casting directors and other industry pros.

Audience: Now Act! can be used by individuals and acting partners, acting coaches and private teachers, college classes and community education programs. It can provide directors with insights and tools for collaborating with actors, and help screenwriters deepen their understanding of what an actor needs on the page. It also contains much that any creative person would find interesting.
